“LEARN TO BE A KID AGAIN!”

BBBSG KICKS OFF NATIONAL AWARENESS MONTH

To celebrate National Big Brother Big Sister Awareness Month, our agency has several events planned throughout September. This is an opportunity to learn more about the agency, programs and services offered. With approximately 100 children waiting to be matched with an adult volunteer, BBBSG is asking all members of the community to ‘Learn to be a kid again’ and get involved.

On September 6th, Guelph Mayor Karen Farbridge raised the agency flag in honor of Big Brother Big Sister Month. We are proud that our agency flag will fly alongside our National, Provincial, and Municipal flags to celebrate BBBS Month.

Again this year, BBBSG will participate in morning interviews at 8:20am with CJOY 8:45am with  Magic radio on Friday September 5th, Friday September 12th, Friday September 19th, and Friday September 26th . BBBSG is encouraging everyone to listen every Friday morning throughout September to hear volunteers share their personal experiences about BBBSG on air. Each week, a different volunteer will speak about how the agency has affected them from their own unique perspective and you can hear from our new Executive Director on September 26th.

There are several other opportunities throughout the month for people to come out and learn more about the agency. BBBSG will attend the University of Guelph recruitment fair on September 3rd and September 30th.  We will be holding an information session on campus at 4p.m. (and possibly at 6p.m.) in the Student Centre. Please contact Sandra Clark for more information at bbbsg.ca 519-821-5154 ext 227.

We are excited to celebrate Big Brother Big Sister Month with our community. Please contact the agency for more information on how you can become involved in a child’s life.
