About Me

Heather Fowler
Executive Director
heather   As Executive Director, I look after communications and strategy plans between the Board of Directors and the staff, ensure that our annual budget is met, ensure that we are providing valuable programming to as many children in the community as we safely can, and engage and educate the local community about the mission and needs of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Guelph. I have been married to my husband for nearly 20 years and I have two teenaged daughters. I am a competitive runner, foster puppy trainer and obsessive chess player. I love this organization and strongly believe in the power of mentorship!
Marg Allen
Program Administrator

Marg  I have been the office administrator for the BBBSG team since September 2000 and I am responsible for a variety of duties, including answering and directing phone calls, dealing with agency emails, & data entry. I also support all of the other BBBSG staff members in a wide variety of tasks. As a graduate of Early Childhood Education, my role as the contact for the initial intake of volunteers & children into our programs is very rewarding. I receive a great deal of satisfaction working for an agency which provides such positive role models for children.
Michael Treadgold
Manager, Development & Communications
mike I joined BBBSG in July 2013 and my role is to implement all fundraising programs, while facilitating all agency public relations and marketing strategies. I work alongside a very supportive staff and I am constantly amazed at the level of volunteerism that exists around this agency. I look forward to continuing to build great relationships in Guelph. Married to my wife Jill since 2016, we have a beautiful daughter, Abigail. In my spare time, you can find me supporting my perpetually cursed Buffalo Bills and Toronto Blue Jays or listening to music.
Jennifer Tremaine
Development Co-ordinator

I am a graduate of Niagara College's Recreation and Leisure program and I have been involved in the non-profit industry for more than 10 years. I look forward to executing events and establishing relationships with donors and volunteers. In my spare time, you will find me camping, swimming across lakes and playing with my daughter.

Big Bunch & One-to-One Matches
14344703_10157336497490401_6193789365377486651_n I first became connected with BBBSG in January 2015 as a placement student. After graduating from the University of Guelph in Child Youth and Family Studies I spent some time working as an Early Childhood Educator. I was excited to return to BBBSG in January 2017 as Mentoring Coordinator. I am excited to be managing a caseload of approximately thirty 1-1 matches as well as coordinating the Big Bunch program. In my spare time you can find me camping, hiking or enjoying country music.
Lisa Steduto

lisa Since September 2002, I have enjoyed getting to know so many of the wonderful volunteers and families. As a Caseworker, I support 30 matches, assist with screening of volunteers and child intake. In my spare time, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, hiking, photography, and camping.
Laura Bernhardt

laura  In January of 2012 I joined the team of Big Brothers Big Sisters caseworkers as the School-Based Group Coordinator (ISM, Go Girls!, Pre-Teen Girls Group, and Game On!). In my spare time, I love to train my dog Archer to do fun things, such as perform tricks, run agility courses, and herd sheep.
Julie Snyder
Mentoring Co-ordinator
School-Based Groups

julie_  I have been connected with BBBSG since September 2014 when I did my Social Service Worker student placement through Conestoga College. I was excited to later join the team as staff in November 2015 to cover a maternity leave. After facilitating the Go Girls! group, and seeing the positive impact my time made on the girls, I am now honoured to coordinate all of the School-Based Groups in many schools in Guelph. In my spare time, I enjoy being outdoors, crafting, spending time with friends, and helping out on my family farm.

Brigitta Wideman
Mentoring Co-ordinator
Co-operative ISM

Brigitta I have been a part of the BBBSG agency since a school placement in 2015 and have taken on the Co-op Caseworker role. My role is to supervise and work with local highschool youth (mentors) who are matched to local elementary students; every semester is different and so much fun! I have a passion for working with young people and I love hearing their stories and seeing them succeed. I am an avid musical-lover and enjoy spending time with friends and playing piano.
Darryl Blake

Darryl250 I started with BBBSG in January 2014 on a development writing internship, and joined the staff in March of 2015. My main role is to submit successful foundation grants on behalf of the agency, and complete other writing projects as they arise. I have a Certificate of Business Writing from Conestoga College, with a focus on proposal writing. In my spare time, you can find me reading or playing drums.
