GOLF FORE KIDS SAKE RESULTS

GUELPH, June 22, 2009- Big Brothers Big Sisters of Guelph is proud to announce Golf Fore Kids Sake raised over $28,000 to support mentoring programs in the Guelph community. This year’s tournament took place at Guelph Lakes Golf and Country Club on June 16 where 115 participants enjoyed 18 holes of golf, lunch, steak dinner, games, prizes and live/silent auctions

Rory Pike, Vice-President, Board of Directors and Chair of the Golf Committee commented:  “This was our best tournament yet. It keeps getting better!  Each year we learn a few more things which we use to enhance the experience. We blasted through our target of $24,000 and reached a net profit of more than $28,000.  That beat the target by 19%.  Even more astounding is that we increased our net profit by $6,000 or 27% over last year.    People believe in building a better community, even in tough times.”

All proceeds will go to fund programs and services that assist over 500 children and youth in the Guelph area in need of friendships and positive mentoring.
