FUNDRAISER SELLS OUT

 On February 9, 2008, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Guelph held "Have a Heart For Kids Sake," a gala fundraising event presented by Meridian Credit Union at Guelph Place Banquet Hall. The event had a sold out attendance of more than 295 guests who dined, danced with the stars, and went home with items from the live and silent auctions. More than $42,000 was raised.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Guelph would like to thank everyone who contributed to the success of the event: our Corporate Partners, donors of auction items, guests, MC Lisa Richards, Auctioneer Steven Parr, DJ Sound Samsation Entertainment, and guest dancers. Special thanks go to the committee members who planned this exciting event.

The money raised will help promote the healthy development of the over 400 children and youth in the Guelph area who are served by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Guelph mentoring programs. Over 100 children are currently waiting to be matched with a mentor. These children could wait up to 3 years before being matched with a volunteer.
