The Big Brothers Big Sisters of Guelph 15^th annual gala fundraiser was held Saturday, February 6, 2010 at Italian Canadian Club.  Have a Heart for Kids Sake surpassed its goal and raised more than $51,000.  With 302 guests in attendance, this is one of the greatest net profits in the history of this event.  Maureen Cook, Chair of Have a Heart for Kids Sake Committee stated, “The committee worked long and hard in its quest for new and unique auction items and new ways to build excitement.  Some of our guests have been attending for many, many years and we greatly appreciate their continued support.”

The money raised will help promote the healthy development of the over 600 children and youth involved in the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Guelph mentoring programs. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Guelph has 50 children waiting to be matched.  80% of those children waiting are boys who will wait an average of 3 years before being matched with an adult mentor.  On behalf of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Guelph, a sincere thank you to the sponsors, the guests and everyone involved in making the event a great success. It is with the support of community friends and partners that the agency is able to make a difference in the lives of the children in Guelph.  It was a first class evening enjoyed by all.
