March 2015

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Guelph is pleased to announce the recent commitment of support it has received from the Canadian Tire Jumpstart program.

Jumpstart, an organization which supports the healthy development of children across Canada, has provided up to $10,000 in financial support to the Go Girls! Game On! and Play On! programs through the duration of 2015.

Go Girls! Game On! and Play On! are school-based programs offered by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Guelph to elementary school-aged children in grades 5-8, teaching them about  the importance of being active, eating healthy, developing self-esteem and good social skills with their peers. The seven-week programs run twice, annually, during the Fall and Spring seasons and take place directly in the schools. Big Brothers Big Sisters school-based programs are now offered in more than 36 local schools.

Big Brothers Big Sisters is excited to be able to continue to offer our school-based programs in the local community, as we continue to provide more than 600 local children with access to life-changing mentorships.
